Behemoth are one of the most important death metal bands
The band Behemoth was founded as Baphomet in Gdansk, Poland in 1991. The three musicians used to feel right at home in the genre of Black Metal before going over to the darkness of Death Metal. When it comes to topics and lyrics, Behemoth seem to find most joy in occultism and satanic rituals. This lead to quite some trouble with their home country. For example, Behemoth are not allowed to play concerts in Poznan. At least they can brew a beer in their name!
